QUERIES RELATING TO PAYMENT OF DIVIDEND ON SHARES TRANSFERRED TO IEPF AUTHORITY

Dear all,

I have two queries relating to IEPF:

1. In which IPEF account do we need to transfer the dividend declared on shares transferred to IEPF account as the rules provide that any cash benefits such as dividends arising on shares transferred to IEPF authority needs to be transferred to specified PNB account.

   But nowhere the account details are provided.

   Or can we pay the required amount via pay miscellaneous fee facility on the MCA portal? Please share if anyone has account details.

    

2. How to compute the total number of shareholders of a company where a few shares have been transferred to IEPF?

   Suppose, a company has 100 shareholders and all the shares of 15 shareholders have been transferred to IEPF account. Now, what should be the number of shareholders of the company for MGT-7 purpose or any other purpose?

   Will it be 85 or 86 or still 100? And should the names of all the shareholders whose shares have been transferred needs to be replaced with IEPF in the shareholders list.

All benefits shall be transferred to the Bank Account of the IEPF linked with the Demat Account where shares were transferred viz SBI/PNB.

(There will be NEFT/DR- Details can be fetch from the benpos from the RTA)

Further in MGT-7 IEPF (MCA-CG) is a custodian of shares and not termed as shareholder, therefore existing shareholders are still Members hence shall be part of MGT-7 (with remark-Transferred to IEPF)

The article is very useful but notification dated 16th OCt 2017 clearly says that the dividend on shares transferred to IEPF should be credited to special account of IEPF with PNB ,Sansand Marg,New Delhi. that should be different from the account to which amount transfer under 125(2) of the CA Act 2013 is credited .

Now question is NEFT or DD should be made in favour of IEPF Authority ,having account in PNB Sansad marg new delhi.

We have received the required account details from our RTA and they have forwarded us the benpos data which contained the required account details of IEPF.
