In my opinion one should work in a company for 2 years, with a firm of PCS or law firm for maybe 2 years and then only you should start your own practice...this way you would have gained experience

Dear Nimesh

Your career path cannot be decided by others. It is you to decide on what do do.  However you can absolutely solicit the views from fellow CS.  However unless your basic strengths and weaknesses are not known, it would be good to suggest some thing.

You assess yourself on the following:

1.Your strengths in legal areas ie. how much interested in reading cases and regalements.  If you have very good reading in this areas, I am sure you should choose legal practice.

2. If you have strength in overall economic, commercial laws, then you could choose Cs profession.  To become a successful Cs profession you should have fair amount knowledge on accounts, taxation, finance and other commercial laws applicable to corproate

Either CS or Legal, it will take minimum of 3 to 5 years to have a strong foot hold unless you have a family backup in the same field.  Once you set up practice it should become your passion and you should not look back.

Last but not least- you should always excel with your core professional competence and professional ethics without compromising on moral values.

Assess yourself and you will conquer
