Is there any scope for CS in US (united states).

please provide me MOU copy between cs institute, new delhi and US if any.

ya there is MoU between ICSI and ICSA, after complete of 2 years of ICSI membership you can apply for ICSA UK,  u have to clear only 3 papers and its worthy if u go abroad

Dear members, 

The below being an information found with regard to ICSA MOU with ICSI, thought to enlighten to the unware...

 

ICSA have a special exemption for ICSI Members of two years or more. I have outlined it below but this is for Members of ICSI. ICSI - ICSA MOU Scheme

 

 1).        you must have been a member of ICSI (Associate or Fellow), in good standing for a minimum of two years.

 

 2).        you are required to complete the following three non exempted ICSA examinations:

                        -           Corporate Governance

                        -           Corporate Secretarial Practice

                        -           Chartered Secretary Case Study

 3).        Membership must be certified by the ICSI Endorsing Officer, Mr PC Grover.  This must be done on the relevant section of the attached application form, prior to registration with ICSA.

 

Registration Procedures:

 

To register as a student you must contact the ICSI to obtain the required certification.  ICSI will then forward complete application forms to ICSA.  Please note that MOU students are not required to register for at least one module when applying to the ICSA, it is the students duty to ensure that the correct exam entry form and fee are submitted to the ICSA without these your application will not be processed.

 

Fees:

             Prices are valid until 31st July 2013.

 

The registration                                                                                     £53.00

One Year Annual subscription                                                                £115.00

Exemption fee, per module                                                                    £135.00 X 5 

 

To initially register with the Institute you will be required to submit a payment of   £843.00

Dear Kanak,

There is no MOU between ICSI & US to the best of my knowledge. The US does not have any such programs of education. The Companies Act of India has little relevance in the

US. The US as such does not have any legally required qualifications for the duties of the type performed by a CS. However, the basics of business are obviously of value.

Unfortunately, the US companies are likely not to consider the CS qualification of much

more value than a Bachelor's degree in Business.

Dear Kanak,

 

Please note in US there is no any regulatory body which looks after the profession of Company secretaryship. The Degree of ICSI has only relevance upto the level of Grad. I have direct conversation with them regarding this…they consider Corporate Secretaries which are in majority the Lawyers having Law Degrees from US Itslef.Regarding Compliances the SOX is followed which are look after by the CS (Corporate Secretaries) Professionals.

But there is one exception to this fact as cleared from the Education Directors of Society of Corporate Secretaries,USA that “This Depends upon the Company if they consider the professionals from ICSA or ICSI for the Corporate Secretaries Professional, since in US there is no hard and fast rule to appoint these professional”

 

Hope this clarifies your concern, as one point you should have capability to deliver the quality as CS Professional, believe me there is vast potential and need of these type of professional, the only lacuna is they don’t have any organized body to handle those as we have in European and South-East Asian Countries.
