Whether conversion of preference shares into equity shares amounts to reduction of capital as envisaged under Sections 100-104 of the Companies Act, 1956?

I presume you are referring to change in preference to equity in the
authorised capital...this does not amount to reduction

no madam, I meant conversion of paid-up preference shares into equity shares.

No,conversion will not amount to capital reduction....it will be as
per the terms originally agreed
