Cancellation of SRN- RUN Name reservation

Dear All,

We have a name reserved and approved by CRC for LLP, but now the promoter has changed mind and wishes to incorporate Private Limited Company in same name, If we simply cancel SRN will be name reserved be cancelled and be available to apply again ?? or is it required to file affidavit via Email to CRC. Any one has done the same ? how long does the process of cancellation take?

Please advise.
