🏢 MCA Notification Update | Effective 16 Feb 2026
The notification revising the jurisdiction of the Registrar of Companies (RoCs) was earlier set to take effect from 1 January 2026. However, its implementation was postponed to 16 February 2026 through MCA Notification No. S.O. 6112(E) dated 30 December 2025.
On 10 February 2026, MCA issued key notifications under the Companies Act, 2013 impacting adjudication and delegation of powers.
🔹 Adjudicating Officers (Section 454)
RoCs across India are now formally designated as Adjudicating Officers for penalty proceedings.
Jurisdictions have been clearly defined.
Appeals against RoC orders will lie before the concerned Regional Director.
🔹 Regional Directors (Section 458)
The list of RDs has been expanded to include:
Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and New Delhi.
Clearer RoC jurisdiction and a stronger appellate structure mean faster, more structured handling of proceedings under the Companies Act, 2013
