Good News: Every Company with 5 crore paid up capital shall have a whole time CS !

The good news has come ! The Notification which we were expecting for the past few weeks has been published. 

Now, Listed Companies (Irrespective of paid up capital) and all other Companies (whether Public or Private) with paid up capital of 5 crores or more shall have a whole time Company Secretary.

Giving both Rule 8 & 8 A of KMP Rules for your reference:

Rule 8: 

Every listed company and every other public company having a paid-up share capital of tencrore rupees or more shall 

have whole-time key managerial personnel. 

Rule : 8A. 

Appointment of Company Secretaries in companies not covered under rule 8.—A company other

than a company covered under rule 8 which has a paid up share capital of five crore rupees or more shall have a

whole-time company secretary.”
