Rapid advances in information technology have brought about re-structuring and re-engineering of business processes, thereby improving efficiency and effectiveness that could only have been imagined just a few years ago. As its logical corollary, more and more sensitive information is being shared and stored in electronic form in virtual space. Dependence of organization on interconnected world enabled by technology has been phenomenal during last decade. Maintaining a balance between, protecting this information whilst at the same time making it available has become a challenge for CXOs. The importance of Security and Security management of IT is being widely accepted the world over, however selecting appropriate technology that can secure business (not only information assets) without compromising on efficiency and effectiveness and also reducing outlay is a major challenge organizations face in today’s interconnected world. Pune chapters of Computer society of India and ISACA have joined hands to provide an insight on how others are facing these challenges. The Special Interest Group on Information Security of Computer Society of India has also advanced its support in the organization of the Event.

Who Should Attend? Security should be viewed as an essential component of any business process. Information security should therefore be accepted as a fundamental part of IT Management. This task cannot be achieved by the C.I.O. alone. Business Managers, Information System Designers, and Security Professionals must collaborate effectively to develop a balanced, workable solution. It is particularly necessary that e-security is accepted as an organizational priority; hence active involvement of business managers and application developers is a must. CISA, CISM, CGEIT and CRISC certified candidates can earn up to 14 CPE hours.
