Dear Managing committee member,

Please refer below email message from our RVP, request you to come forward and support the national level activity. So far barring one or two of you, hardly anybody owned or executed any event.

Rahul:
Please call for a managing committee (MC) meeting preferably after 7 pm on coming Saturday.
Follow up with MC members for their involvement in CSI activities, particularly for national events.

With best regards,
Ashok Pawar

Ashok/Madhav/Shubhangi,

We are organizing National Science and ICT Quiz for school children. There will be  regional rounds at 8 cities followed by the finals. Pune will be hosting the regional round for our region. This was discussed in the NCM attended by Rahul and Dr Acharya. We also discussed this when I attended Chapter MC meeting in last month. This is a very good activity to reach out the young talent and will also get lot of visibility.

Considerable progress is now made in this regard. Microsoft will be the National sponsor for the event. Regional round will have two elimination rounds – first at the school, second on the day of the quiz and regional final will be live on the stage. Around 5000 students from 40-50 schools will participate in the first elimination round, 8 teams from each school will participate in second elimination while 8 teams will qualify for regional finals. Winner from each region will participate in the national finals.

Total expenses for the contest could be around 1.00 lakh. We will get 35000 from HQ as part of national sponsorship, we will have raise remaining amount by local sponsorship. There will not be any registration fees for participation.

I have talked to Nikhil and Millennium school is ready to host this contest. Tentative date is February 26.

We will need lot of help from three of you and the other committee members. Also request you to provide two MC members who can take responsibility of this activity (apart from Nikhil and Rahul – they are already there).

Regards

Shekhar

Dear Committee Members,

As suggested by Ashok Sir, let's meet at the chapter office on Saturday 29th Jan 2010 at 7 pm

This special meeting will discuss the participation of Committee members in the Science & ICT Quiz.. a National Event of CSI for School level to penetrate the CSI awarness.

Pune is selected as one of the 8 centres at the National level to conduct the event. It's not the activity of one or two of us. We at Pune chapter are expected to contact minimum 100+ schools to conduct the initial rounds of the Quiz competition for 25000+ students from std 6 to 9 in next 3 weeks. If everybody of you can contribute a little, the event will surely be a success.

If there is no response from the committee members, we will not be able to carry on the event.

Thanks!

1.       Provide some volunteers (students and professionals) to evaluate the answer sheets – we have till now conducted examination for more than 10000 students and will be covering 5000 more on Monday/Tuesday.  Volunteers are required on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening. I am assuming you will be one of them.

2.       On the similar lines volunteers for Grand Finale on Saturday

I am expecting all of you to be present for the Grand Finale – Sat. Feb 26 at 9.00 a.m. at Millennium school.

Dear Friends,

For national quiz, we have conducted preliminary exam of approx. 20000 students from 60 + schools approached.
The most imp task is to shortlist the 16 candidates from each with 8 backup candidates.
We require atleast 10-15 voulnteers incl Student voulnteers and seniors like you to finalise the list today and tomorrow.
Its really a BIG task.

For last 10-15 days, we ( I & Shekhar sir) have put in a lot with the help of cummins college & sinhgad college voulnteers and PSL vounteers.
Still the time is running short as the final list be communicated to schools by wednesday.

If you can make some time from your busy schedule, it will be a great help to all of us in this mega event.

Thanks!
Rahul
