Greetings. I'm a relatively new user of Android. I have experimented with a number of SIP software including Bria, Media5, Linphone, Zoiper and now CSipSimple. The biggest problem I have with most of them is the consumption of battery by the Wakelocks. Linphone by far has been the best out of all of them, especially on my new Neptune Pine watch phone. With Linphone I was able to get 24 hours or more sometimes with a single charge and it was very reliable for incoming calls.
However, I have now moved away from LinPhone because it has terrible echo for my remote parties in speakerphone mode, the only mode supported on the Pine. So, now, CSipSimple is my phone of choice. I love the flexibility of it and that it can be set to default to speaker mode! It seems to have better life than most, but I, still unsure if it is as good as Linphone. I also love how it interacts with native Android functions so seamlessly.
Here is where my comment/request comes in. Since Linphone is also an open source implementation, I was wondering how difficult it may be for a developer to see how Linphone keeps its power consumption so low and do something similar in CSipSimple.
