SOPEP Oil Spill Contact Points
In a recent survey, ATLANTIS found a large amount of obsolete information in
the latest IMO MEPC Circ.2 (Jan '97). As a result, ATLANTIS has introduced a
new, annually confirmed, subscription-based product which provides
up-to-date world-wide and US State oil spill contact details ready to insert
in your SOPEP.
ATLANTIS Cargo Securing Manual
From 01 January 1998, most cargo carrying ships (except those solely
carrying bulk solid or liquid cargoes etc.) must have an approved Cargo
Securing Manual in accordance with Regulation VI/5.6 of the amended SOLAS
Convention.
Many companies are finding that producing a Cargo Securing Manual suitable
for approval is not easy. To meet the requirements of SOLAS, the manual
becomes quite detailed, and must include example calculations of forces
acting on a cargo unit. The ATLANTIS Cargo Securing Manual offers a quick
and economic way to meet this complex and extensive regulation. This manual
has already been pre-approved by LRS, DNV, ABS, GL and other major approval
bodies; thus enabling ATLANTIS to offer guaranteed approval of all Cargo
Securing Manuals for all types of vessels.
ATLANTIS Garbage Disposal Pack
ATLANTIS has developed a Garbage Disposal Pack to provide ship operators
with easy-to-implement assistance in complying with Regulation 9 of Annex V
of MARPOL 73/78. The ATLANTIS Garbage Disposal Pack contains large coloured
charts to provide crew or passengers with decision paths for proper garbage
disposal, a Garbage Management Plan which sets out in simple terms, the
procedures for garbage collection, storage, processing and disposal, and a
Garbage Record Book containing the mandatory Record of Garbage Discharges
log forms.
ATLANTIS Ship Inspection Report (SIR)
Regular inspections of the ship and its equipment form an important aspect
of ISM Code compliance, and Port State Control inspectorate will look for
evidence that these inspections are being carried out. The ATLANTIS Ship
Inspection Report (SIR) PC based, Windows software makes it both easy to
conduct these inspections and to document the results and remedial actions
taken.

With more than 20 separate audit topic checklists and over 300 structured
