Redirection to a file (and .xsl) results saving the file with ".aspx" extension

There is link in my page which is pointed to an Excel file. As I click
on the like a window will be opened which ask where to save the Excel
file. But surprisingly the file saved as .aspx rather than .xls.
If I open my page directly in browser the file will be save as .xls.
