Have you asserted qsub -I in a lab machine and forgotten about it?

My login is rthallamko3. I had logged in normally. My session shouldn't be causing the problem. Even I have been waiting to get exclusive access to get the numbers.

Thanks,

It's just that the session is shown idle for almost 2 days now....

Correct me if I am wrong here... but it seems we have a qsub -I
running from Dec04 belonging to mrasquinha3

[ashringarpure3@bechet ~]$ ps aux |grep qsub
2015 6182 0.0 0.0 61156 720 pts/10 S+ 17:25 0:00 grep
qsub
2020 11563 0.0 0.0 8860 88 pts/8 S+ Dec04 0:00 qsub -
I
2020 12078 0.0 0.0 8860 32 pts/8 S+ Dec04 0:00 qsub -
I
gth676n 17616 0.2 0.0 8852 388 pts/1 S+ 12:17 0:49 qsub -
I
[ashringarpure3@bechet ~]$ id mrasquinha3
uid=2020(mrasquinha3) gid=2020(mrasquinha3) groups=2020(mrasquinha3)
context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t

I'm not trying to blame anyone, just doing my bit to get this problem
resolved for everyone's sake.

I dont have any connections... i dont know why it still shows i have one. I am done using that cluster so if any of u can kill the process please do.

I only managed to get one connection to the ellington node tht just hung on me within 2 mins of getting it and i cant seem to do anything else on that myself!!

Prof Rich if you have a sudo password to that cluster can you please release that connection. All i did manage to get was a 2 min access to ellington that hung on me and i cant do anything with it. I have already collected my results and submitted the homework so if you can release it some others can get access.

Thanks
Mitchelle.

This shows the user with login name gth676n has been occupying the Cluster since.. 11:59..more that 6 hrs! Please we all have to submit our homework and we need to time our code.. please be considerate and exit your application.

I don't want to blame you, but only 4 hrs are left for the deadline, I have been waiting for 4 days now.

I'm gth676n and I have been waiting for the cluster for 4 days (just
like you) so don't blame me. I have been having the EXACT same
problems as you and have simply kept qsub -I running in the hopes that
sometime the cluster might actually be freed. I have run the command
multiple times over the last 4 days and it's always been busy so I
figured I might keep it running continuously this time until someone
finally frees the cluster but that has not been the case.

the cluster has not been freed the entire time i've had qsub -I
running over the last 4 days so something else is obviously the
problem. I have just quit out of qsub -I and tried again and it still
is not working, so it is DEFINITELY not my fault.

if i were you, i would ask the users ashringa, mjain8, ukhan6, and
kbeedkar about their use of the cluster.. i will stop trying to run
qsub -I tonight and hopefully after the HW deadline ends it will be
freed. Otherwise there is just something wrong with the cluster.

hmm I don't understand who is using the cluster as I asked ever body and all seem to be waiting.

We should just wait till end of home work i guess and probably get some extra time to get the results.

All,

First, I don't have any sort of administrative access so you will have
to direct your queries to Chad for help, though it is at this point
basically too late.

Secondly, I repeatedly warned everyone about potential issues during
class. Please recall that the assignment was posted almost 4 weeks
ago. I repeatedly asked everyone, if they needed to use the cluster,
to log into the cluster to make sure accounts and other aspects of the
system worked, etc. as soon as HW #3 posted. Only in the last week am
I hearing about people having account/password issues. As I hope you
can imagine, I am extremely unsympathetic to extensions at this point.
