Hey guys

One of my colleague wants to do a course on datastructures, algorithms and programming for engineering students and other interested candidates.
He has got offers from Facebook (US), Amazon, Flipkart, Inmobi, etc and is keen in helping out others to learn programming fundamentals and solve few challenging problems. Spread the word.

What is this course about?
An introduction to algorithmic programming. We'll be solving few great datastructure and algorithm problems from certain famous online coding sites like SPOJ, Topcoder, etc.

How will it help?
Development of this skill- converting an algorithm into working code with ease and good pace.
Side Effect: It will help in all programming interviews in the future. But, thats not the main reason you will be in the course for! Almost all 'good' companies dig this skill big time. So, if you have a dream company in mind, you might end up getting an offer from there.

What will a typical day be like?
First a broad concept will be discussed. Then the exact algo, followed by 4-5 problems from spoj.
Last hour of every day: One intermediate level problem will be given based on the a concept that was discussed during the day. You may have to solve and code this without any help.

How many people in the course?
6-10. Its not first-come, first serve. There will be some shortlisting based on a detailed questionnaire.

Duration:
Tentative plan-Six to Nine(exact no. of days, to be decided) Full days of classes. 7-8 hour course per day with a 1 hour break for lunch.

Dates:
Again tentative: 14th to 20th May, 2012.

Price: TBD

Venue:
TBD. It will be very informal. If its going to be at my place, it'll be a white board, a bean bag, a mattress and some plastic chairs!

What do you need to bring?
Laptop.
Internet cards(optional, but will help)
