At IBM Almaden Research Center, we are looking for highly qualified Ph.D. graduates and summer interns in the areas of information management systems and solutions. On the solutions side, we are particularly interested in healthcare and business integrity (e.g., governance and provenance). On the information management side, we are exploring research problems related to cloud computing, semi-structured and unstructured data, including automatic discovery of
schema/relationships, semantic search, information integration, stream processing and Web 2.0. There is an emphasis on emerging architectures and system designs for information management systems, including data intensive structured and unstructured analytics using hadoop and related software. We are also interested in the impact on new hardware architectures on information systems.
