Hey CSC Service Peeps!

Just another update as we get into the beginning of October. I am so excited for all of you to be interested in service and as we settle into the semester (finally!) I want to let you know your choices.

MOST UP & COMING EVENT- Spellman House this Friday, meet at the CSC at 6:30 pm (see below for description)

Here's what we've got on a regular basis:

Little Friends for Peace: Conflict Resolution Education with Inner City Kids in the D.C. Sursum Corda Cooperative, Wednesdays leave Stamp Bus stop at 3:30, Contact: Lauren Houser lauren...@gmail.com

CARing Kids Program: Outreach for At-Risk Youth, Interfaith Volunteers, Thursdays at Lutheran Church (next to CSC) from 3-5pm Contact: Ken Sichler ksic...@umd.edu

Spellman House: Hanging out with the Elderly at Spellman House in College Park, First Fridays of the Month, meet at CSC around 7pm, Contact: Jess Metcalfe metc...@umd.edu

AND FINALLY- I wanted to let you all know that I am passing on leadership of the Service Committee to two new wonderful ladies from this month forward. Sadly, I underestimated my workload this semester and seriously over booked myself. BUT, the positive news is that you guys now get to work with Lauren Houser (lauren...@gmail.com) and Pamela Barry (pamela...@gmail.com), both of whom have done a great job leading Little Friends for Peace over the past year. I have no doubt that they will do a fabulous job. This means though, that any future questions regarding service should be directed towards them, as they will be attending general meetings. I will still be around and participating in as much as I can but these ladies will be doing all the leading and heavy lifting. Thank you Lauren and Pam for stepping up- I love you both!

So thanks everyone for a rewarding and successful year of creating and working with the service committee. Without all your support and participation, it would never have happened. See you all around the CSC.
