Fwd: Supervisor Qualifications

I have a question about this

“Trainees must receive an average of at least one hour of direct supervisor contact for every 5 hours of direct clinical counseling performed each week in each setting (previously, it was tied to the amount of client contact.).”

I assume a “trainee” is a graduate student. If they were talking about post graduate supervisees they would call them “associates,” right? I am also assuming that “clinical counseling” includes individual, couples, family and group therapies (including co-therapy.)

So when I have 2nd year graduate students I dependably provide one hour of weekly 1:1 therapy and two hours of weekly group therapy. They are placed 3 days a week and provide, on average, 5 hours a day of either individual therapy, family therapy, and co-leading group therapy and complex family therapy. 

So, do I now need to add an additional hour of 1:1 supervision? Or limit them to providing 10 hours of therapy and reassign one day a week to case management, micro, mezzo & macro advocacy and research?

Some of the qualifications required to serve as a supervisor have changed effective January 1, 2019.

The vast majority of the requirements are still the same, but there are some changes that all supervisors need to ensure they are meeting.
