Hi Mark --Just wanted to let you know that my practice for the past 14 years has been concerned with waivers and asylum. My office has done over 3000 cases since 2003. I have appeared many times in proceedings with great success. I am well known to many attorneys in the Sacramento area. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Keep up the good work...Best wishes, Russell Bader

I'm doing a series of three webinars beginning on March 24th that can provide enough of an introduction to doing psych evals for asylum seekers; that therapists may approach lawyers handling these cases to provide pro bono services.  Online mentoring will be available after the course concludes April 21st.  You can register for this right up to the webinar itself on MARCH 24TH.  Also, note that you'll have access to the recordings of the webinars, even if you didn't log in to the webinar.

California LCSW's and MFT’s can get 7 CEU's for the course to boot!  Interns may take the course but cannot do evaluations until after they are licensed.  The course costs are kept to a minimum at $45. for all three sessions.  CEU’s are an additional cost of $35.
Therapists are needed to provide psychological evaluations of refugees to avoid deportation- training info-  realhope.com/webinar- training

Please pass on the page link above to colleagues who may be interested in doing some of this work.
This page is a fuller description of the course and includes a link to register.

You can do Unaccompanied Minor cases seeking asylum from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. (As in the picture above.)

If you have an interest in standing up for oppressed populations, this is a great way to feel active and a part of a resistance to xenophobia.  #Asylum-Psychological- Evaluation
