Can anyone send me any link / idea as to how father's name (as per Income Tax database) of a person can be found using PAN

regards,
yogan.

Dear Yogan

Please note that the father's name printed in the PAN CARD will be the fathers' name as per the income-tax
database. In case of  applicant's name, there is a provision to give some other as 49A contains a column
titled ' the name you would like to printed on the PAN Card'.  So as far as the pan data base of the IT dept
is concerned the fathers name and the father's name printed in the PAN card will be one and the same.
There is no other way to get/trieve  the father's name  from the IT databse.

With regards

Dear Yogan

Please try once more.  The possibility of getting such an error is very limited.
Sometimes, a part of the name of the father may be a single letter.  In such
case, you have no other option, except to get a fresh PAN Card based on
the DIN Details.

thanks for the information.. i have gone to one pan facilitation centre.. they have provided me the father's name as is there in the IT database. to my surprise and to their surprise also, the father's name of the card is different from the father's name in the IT database.. see the fate..

now that centre is asking me to submit correction form.. now what correction ??
can there be a form for correcting IT dabase ????   idiotic.. isnt it.

i dont need any correction in the card. i only want it in the IT database
so they suggested me to put the same pan card as proof

mca has given a time frame without considering all these hickups. i dont understand what they want to achieve..
why at all bringing a concept of DIN.. and why linking DIN with PAN.. they could have instead used PAN without introducing concept of DIN.. i know there are exceptions viz foreigners, etc., but MCA could have created a special number for them. obviously it would be easy to create an exception for a few instead of troubling millions of people..

regards,
yogan.
