Unique Identification Number by RBI

Dear Professionals,

I need your help. There was a Foreign Direct Investment in our Company 2 years back, as far as I know, RBI communicates a Unique Identification Number(UIN) after an FDI is done. Does any one knows any website any data base from where this number can be retrieved?

Dear Surbhi,

As far as Foreign Direct Investment is concerned, there is no allotment of UIN. UIN is allotted only for overseas direct investment.

Further, you can check with your authorised dealers (AD) with regard to the allotment of UIN, since RBI communicates the same only to AD.

When an Indian Company receives FDI, it need to be reported in Form FCGPR with RBI's regional office through concerned AD.  After processing the application RBI will issue UIN and it will be communicated to the Company directly.

Check your RBI correspondence...
