亦宛然掌中劇團5月20日曼哈頓中城圖書館演出免費入場
臺灣知名的亦宛然掌中劇團應美華藝術協會及曼哈頓中城圖書館邀請，將於5月20日下午3:00於曼哈頓中城圖書館演出經典名劇「巧遇姻緣」，免費入場，歡迎喜愛偶戲的朋友前往觀賞。
亦宛然掌中劇團於1931年由國寶級藝師李天祿成立，成立80餘年以來始終堅持傳統前後場形式演出，堪稱為臺灣本土代表性劇團。
此次演出的劇目「巧遇姻緣」係由李天祿及其子李傳燦共同創作，以默劇的形式演出，讓觀眾能不受語言的隔閡，欣賞布袋戲精緻細膩的動作與伴隨著劇情氛圍變化的現場配樂。「巧遇姻緣」描述花花大少杜興到街上觀賞江湖賣藝，遇到潘榮帶著女兒潘玉枝，杜興看到潘玉枝美貌，當街調戲潘玉枝，老邁的潘榮只能沿街呼救。文武雙全的書生蕭金俊仗義解救潘玉枝…

The fourth generation master puppeteers from Taiwan, I Wan Jan Hand Puppet Theater, will be visiting New York from May20 to May23 and performing the acclaimed “A Chance Encounter Leads to Marriage”(巧遇姻緣).The first performance will be held at Mid-Manhattan Library on, Friday May 20at 3:00 pm. Admission is free.
A Chance Encounter Leads Marriage is a mesmerizing, traditional hand puppet show based on Peking Opera. This non-verbal piece tells the tale of a young couple's chance meeting at a festival that has puppets juggling, performing martial arts and much more.
