You must have passed the following test (and have it recorded on your White Card): Windsurfing Tests: Novice: Written Test
Active membership. Able to swim (wearing personal flotation device). Windsurfing can be physically challenging and you will need to be able to paddle.
There is a maximum of 8 students. Slots will be allocated in signup order. If more students sign up than can be accommodated, all on the waitlist will be notified by email of any cancellation, and the first to respond will get the slot. You can check your signup status on the website.]

This class is for members who are brand new to windsurfing AND for Novice windsurfers who are feeling rusty.
You must register for this class. From the calendar view, click here to register (you must be logged in). You won't be able to register until you have passed the Written Novice Test.
After taking this class, you will be able to safely manage windsurfing gear and have a basic understanding of sail steering.
The lesson will be taught by CSC volunteers and will include both on-land instruction and on-the-water practice. If you own a wetsuit you are encouraged to bring it, but a selection of wetsuits are available to borrow. Wetsuits are required for both safety and comfort. This is a water sport, you will get wet!

Once you have completed the written test and this lesson, demonstrating that you can safely handle equipment and can self-rescue on the water, you will receive your Novice rating and will be able to check out Novice equipment any time the club is open and appropriate gear is available.
