The next Teachalong will be on Saturday, September 27nd, 1:30 -3:30 pm and it will focus on teaching downwind sailing and gybing. A Teachalong is an intensive workshop on teaching for three unique groups: a novice student, a learning instructor and a teaching instructor. Groups of 3s will learn and explore different ways to teach a particular skill, on land and on water. The Teachalong will expect to use 4-5 Quests following lessons, so spots are limited to ~5 participants per role.
If you are a beginner or novice student, please sign up on this spreadsheet by Thursday evening. This means you have taken several group lessons, generally know sailing terms and points of sail, and have learned the basics of how to tack and gybe.
If you are a junior or senior rated sailor with interest in teaching more regularly at CSC, please sign up as a learning instructor in the same spreadsheet by Thursday evening. The focus of the workshop is to develop teaching skills, even for those who have advanced technical skills.
The workshop will start with a short on-land session about focused on teaching resources and techniques for downwind sailing, followed by on-the-water practice.
We will use the CSC Slack channel to coordinate any day-of comms, confirmation of participation, etc
