You can also enter the information online here.  During the Mass on November 2, all the names entered will be read aloud, as tea lights are lit in remembrance of their life.  Families of those loved ones are invited to attend the Mass and be a part of the process, but it is not required. Free Wednesday night dinner will follow this Mass.

"What is Interfaith all About?"

The CSC's Interfaith Committee strives to develop and maintain relationships with the representatives from other religious groups around campus, both Christians and non-Christians alike. Our goal through these relationships is to help other faiths accurately understand the teachings of Catholicism, help us to understand their faiths and highlight the similarities and differences between us. The Church teaches that while we always must proclaim Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life, there is also great value to be appreciated in the teachings of other religions.

If you're interested in learning more about this committee and helping to plan its activities please contact David at inter...@catholicterps.org

Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation

I am pleased to invite you and the students of University of Maryland Catholic Students Center to a unique and enriching opportunity for your campus faith community. HCEF will be holding its 13th Annual International Conference on October 28-29, at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington D.C. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we offer scholarships to cover the cost of attendance for the first 100 students who register.  This conference represents a rare opportunity for Christians to enrich their lives intellectually and spiritually through knowledge of the Christian faith in its birthplace, the Holy Land.

HCEF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to building bridges of peace through dialogue and action, and to the presence and wellbeing of Arab Christians in the Holy Land. One important method by which this can be achieved is through global Christian solidarity.

These Palestinian Christians face confinement by checkpoints and the separation wall, land confiscations and home demolitions alongside their Muslim neighbors.  The Christians in the Holy Land are an essential part of the society and peace process, but they are in danger of disappearing. Since 1948, the Christian population in the Holy Land has dwindled from 18% to less than 1.5% due to immigration as a result of this oppression and insecurity. Without a presence in the Holy Land, global Christianity would lose its living roots.

We have lined up many dynamic speakers for you, about whom you can read more on the attached conference flier.   Dr. Hanan Ashrawi of the Palestinian Legislative Council is our keynote speaker.

Please share and discuss this invitation and attached flier with your campus community. Students should register as soon as possible in order to take advantage of our limited scholarships. For more information about the conference or HCEF, please see the attached conference flier or visit our website at www.hcef.org.  I can be reached by phone at (301) 951 9400 if you have further questions. For registration, please contact Chiara Cardone at ccar...@hcef.org, or(301) 951 9400 ext. 206.
