We have unexpected access to 2 additional Burning Man tickets -- want to come with us?

Dear Friends,

If you're getting this email it is because you are some of our camp's closest supporters, and we wanted to extend this special opportunity to you at the earliest chance before we share it with a wider audience.

We have 18 confirmed Christian Science at Burning Man (aka "Healing Foot Wash - Life, Truth, Love") camp participants this year (up from 10 last year!) and are bringing Christian Science, prayer, sharing, 3 metaphysical talks by John Tyler, CSB, and foot washing to the Burning Man art festival (details about our camp here: http://spiritualplaya.org).  Last year we washed ~200 people's feet, and this year we received Placement in an active location (Isfahan & 9:15) and expect to be washing 1,000 or more people's feet.

We can use your help in 3 ways:

3) We're looking for 2 special individuals to join our camp.  I know this is extremely last minute, but we only found out about having access to the 2 extra tickets a few days ago.  These are very rare at this point in time (tickets are completely sold out and in great demand).  If we can't find 2 additional people to join us in our camp we will offer the tickets for sale at cost to our neighbors and / or Craigslist, so don't worry if it doesn't work  out for you to join us this year.  We truly appreciate all of your interest and support!

Here are some of the important details if you might be interested in joining our fun and inspiring group this year:

Our camp is caravanning from Berkeley leaving Saturday August 23 and staying Saturday night with Reno church home stay families.  You are welcome to join us and there is room for 2 additional people to stay there.  Sunday morning everyone will meet up at First Church Reno, and then celebrate with a family-style BBQ after church, before driving as a group to Black Rock City.  This year we have a pre-arrival team of 4 participants who will be arriving at Black Rock City early to claim our location and set up camp infrastructure on Friday August 22.  We still have a few extra Early Arrival Passes available, so if you are driving your own vehicle you could come a little early and help with the set up crew as an option.

The plan is for each member of our group to fully participate with foot washing, praying, talking, connecting, and in general practicing fully loving everyone during the intense week of Burning Man.  We have both Christian Scientists (quite a few Journal-listed practitioners this year actually) and also some supportive non-Christian Scientists who are participating in our group this year, and we value everyone equally who has chosen to be part of our gift to the playa.

After the Temple burn on Sunday night, we'll all leave to drive back to Reno for a Monday morning arrival, showers, and sharing and lunch with the Reno church families that help us transition into and out of Burning Man.  The Bay Area group will then finish driving back to Berkeley Monday night, do a quick and thorough unpacking and cleaning of our rental truck at the Berkeley CSO before heading home.

If we don't have any takers by Friday August 15 we're going to open this up to our Facebook friends and will begin actively seeing if any of our playa neighbor camps are still in need of tickets (likely yes).
