Hello Friends and Family!
I know it has been a while since one of my large communications like this, but I just got really inspired about the idea of generously sharing good ideas through the amazing power of the Internet - imagine that!
The day was busy, long, unselfishly spent helping a convicted sex-offender get his life back together, find a job, and this same individual's son get out of the gang he was in, kick a meth habit, and get all of the appropriate documents from both the state offices and local police department to have correct identification and be "legal" to get hired and get off the streets.
Paul has been doing this type of work for years, but what's new is his strong belief that this is, actually, the kind of ministry and work every Christian Church (and Christian Science Reading Room) should be doing in our nation.
After spending some time with him, I think I agree.
I won't get into hypothesizing about the crisis our nation is in right now when it comes to public education, STDs, drug addiction, or incarceration - if you'd like statistics Paul has plenty to share - but I did want to raise awareness about this organization, Stronghold Schools. Here's the link again in case you didn't click on it the first time:
Take some time to look at the website, prayerfully support its mission, and allow its work to fill you with hope and faith in a brighter future. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). For many young people in our nation today, Stronghold is a definite substance of things hoped for - and therefore is something we should all be aware of.
God bless you all - please have a beautiful Sunday!!!
