Hi, all, I came across this video on the Burning Man site.  I watched to the end because it reminds me that there are "millions of unprejudiced minds, waiting and watching for rest and drink."  The gist of the video's message is that people are not quantifiable things, but more.  He doesn't get too much beyond that to seeing that the more is the man's spiritual dimension (really his ONLY genuine or lasting dimension), but at least his recognition is a starting point in that direction.

Very interesting. Recently our branch church was thinking about how we could "brand" ourselves in our community. That is, give people who know virtually nothing about us a way to identify us. Do it through flyers, business cards, personal conversations, or whatever. That way, we might end up in the communities' mind as, "those folks who talk about health being spiritual" or something else slighty better than what it says on Wikipedia when you search christian science.

(Sorry sent to soon). I was just thinking about the question of letting Mind promote Christian Science by demonstration alone, or if there is room for Mind to direct a branch church or bm camp to know how to best brand itself to speak most lovingly and clearly to its community. Thanks for sending the video, Anna Lisa. Cool scenes of the desert venue too.

Best,
AJ

I have some big ideas for branding the CS movement for the 21st century. It starts with the healing method being explained as universal and simple, not something hard to attain or only available within our little group. We know no one has a monopoly on the truth. Second, we are a metaphysical cross section of the world's religions. If we learn a little about them so we can translate lingo, we could be an ideal hub for interfaith dialogue, and again offering the simple healing method, our signature, to anyone who wants to learn more. 3rd, our tradition brought science and Christianity together in the very title Eddy chose, her branding for the 19th into the 20th century. If we continue to use that title, we need to fully embrace the scientific method, and show how it coincides with true christianity.

At burning man, we have a lot of people already studying off shoots of Christian Science, and they don't need to become Christian scientists to get treated or to build on their understanding. Culture influences every religion over time. Let's accept that we will be changed by burning man, in good ways, just as much as it will be changed by Christian Science. We are holding something just as radical as burning man itself; we just need to believe that and show it.
