In the leadup to this
Wednesday's first presidential debate, the movement for open debates
has taken wing, quite literally in the case of New Englanders, who
descended on Mitt Romney's national headquarters in Boston this past
week decked in chicken suits and carrying signs accusing the Bain
capitalist of being "too chicken to face Jill Stein in a rematch."
The message could not have been clearer, as OccupytheCPD.org
organizer and U.S. Uncut founder Carl Gibson presented a Romney
staffer with "The World's Biggest Chicken Award." Romney last faced
Jill Stein in a 2002 gubernatorial debate which Massachusetts media
later declared Dr. Stein the winner.

This action took place on the same day that the
OccupytheCPD.org
statement gained its 12,000th signer, and that the #OccupytheCPD
Social Media Storm garnered over 1,000,000 views in just 24 hours.
The next stop in the fight for open debates will take place
in Denver this Wednesday, as Jill Stein, Cheri Honkala, and
many more march on the Commission on Presidential Debates, join Amy
Goodman and Rocky Anderson in rebutting the debate on a special live
Democracy Now broadcast, and then rally for the next round in a
special after-debate After Rally at the Mercury Cafe. If you can make
it to Denver, please do so, and please spread the word to everyone you
know in Colorado and neighboring states.
