A couple points:

1) There's an entire problem (20 points) on the final on proof by induction. If you haven't yet, you should carefully review the appendix in:

http://www.cs.uiuc.edu/~jeffe/teaching/algorithms/notes/98-induction.pdf

and also review proofs in the textbook.

Make sure you *actually try to do the proofs* before you look at the solutions.

2) I've tried to balance out the difficulty of the problems more on the final. Don't be scared to try the last problem of the final, it's much easier than problem 5 on the midterm.
