Can we use the built-in Canny edge detector?

Can we use the built-in Canny edge detector of MATLAB for hw2's circle
detection?

You will probably need to know the gradient magnitude and orientation
to get a good result, and "edge(im, 'canny')" won't provide that
directly. You should produce a result without using Matlab's "edge"
function. If that doesn't work, you can also try using "edge" to
produce a better result. In that case, show both results, with and
without the built-in "edge.m".

I just used the "edge(im, 'canny')" as a part of my circle detection
code, and the result of my circle detection sucks. Thanks for the
answer and the hint!
