I taught HS chemistry for many years but now am the technology coordinator for a small, private K-8 school. We just bought the LEGO WeDo kits to use with 5th and maybe 6th graders in an enrichment class. I also have an NXT kit. You might want to look at the Finch robot too (link posted under resources).

I've been running Technology Workshops for the last 10 years.  Predominantly Robotics, but also programming, stop motions, greenscreens etc.  I've taught everyone from prep kids through to seniors, teachers, industry reps etc.  The majority of my workshops have been in Brisbane Australia, but I have run sessions all over Australia as well as being invited to present in the USA, China, Singapore, Jordan and the UK.

I teach a Tech/Robotics class and advise an after school robotics club and a MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement) club at a middle school in California. We have VEX, Botball, and iRobot platforms at our school, but primarily use LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots. We also have an EV3 but I haven't had time to do much with it yet.

I am also on our District's Technology Advisory Board and a member of the Los Angeles Region-FIRST LEGO League Planning Committee.
