Hi, I was curious what we could post in here and what we could not. I
have a question about the spell checker, I implemented it a certain
way, but I am not sure it is exactly what the problem is asking. I
didnt want to just throw code up or anything, but can I post for
example what it is I am mapping, and why I am wondering if it is the
right way to go about it? Thanks!

As you mention, code or other material that is part of actual
answers is not appropriate, but snippets of code that show
how to do something in Java are OK, this vs. that ways, etc.

Ok, thank you! So here is my deal. I didn't realize I needed another
dictionary until last night, so I have been trying to implement that
part of the problem. I am using a TreeSet to store my big dictionary.
I then scan in my new dictionary, and try to add it to my existing
TreeSet just using the add(scan.next()) method. My thinking is that
because it is a set, it will automatically take care of any duplicate
issues. However, this is not working, it seems to be freezing up my
program because I get no output. Am I going about this part wrong?

Oh, and I know I need a Map, I use a map to deal with the errors and
possible corrections. I just thought TreeSet would do the job of
holding the words well.

Set of String is fine here for the dictionary, and you're right
that it will take care of duplicates for you when you add in
the personal dictionary words. The problem you're having is
somewhere else. I'd add more println's so I could see what's
being executed, or use a debugger.
