My name is Alice Chambers and I work for Chris Wayne and Associates (CWA), an events communications firm in Washington, D.C. CWA has produced events for The Economist, Clinton Global Initiative, Edison Electrical Institute, among many others. This January, we are producing an event called The Wall Street Journal CIO Network, in San Diego. We are looking for bright and motivated graduate and undergraduate students to volunteer their time at this event.
The Wall Street Journal CIO Network, a membership organization of the world’s top technology executives from global corporations, is designed to provide a forum for CIOs and CTOs to understand the challenges in today’s world of rapid innovation and develop concrete strategies for meeting them. Information technology has become the cardiovascular system for large corporations, and that makes the CIO ever more critical to those organizations’ success. Perspective speakers include: Rich Miner (Partner, Google Ventures), Michael Raynor (Director, Deliotte Consulting LLP), and Michael Chertoff (Former U.S. Secretary for Homeland Security; Senior Council, Covington & Burling LLP).
This event will provide students with an invaluable experience, as they will have the opportunity to expand their curriculum outside the classroom. Tasks and duties will range from registration, speaker management, press management, and production assistance. All volunteers will also have the chance to sit-in on portions of the program, giving them an inside perspective that only attendees receive.
We would very much appreciate your help by distributing the attached volunteer letter to your students, both past and present. The letter will provide additional information about the event as well as information on signing up to volunteer.
Thank you in advance,
Alice Chambers
