I volunteer for the Wayne County Animal Shelter in my hometown of Goldsboro, NC. Unfortunately, it is a very high-kill shelter. A few weeks ago, they received the boxer that I've been calling Zeke. He seems to be purebred. He looks to be approximately 3 or 4-years-old. He came in as a stray and was never claimed by anyone, although it is clear that he has been owned by someone because he is very friendly. Zeke gives new meaning to the phrase 'Gentle Giant'. I've included a couple pictures of him. Other rescues have offered to put Zeke's picture and information on their website, but I'm afraid that he may not have that much time. Today, the shelter director discreetly implied that Zeke needed to find a way
out now. I'm sure that your rescue has more than enough on its hands, but if you could find room for Zeke, he and I would both be doing flips! We have had several transport offers and can get him to wherever there is an opening. Please hurry with your response. Because of the shelter's high daily intake, they tend to euthanize without warning.
Thank you for your consideration of Zeke,
Jessica B. Herring
