DAK WAS ADOPTED TODAY BY A WONDERFUL FAMILY ... YAY! I MISS HIM SOOO MUCH BUT AM SOOO HAPPY FOR THIS AWESOME BOY!

CROSSPOSTING ~ PLEASE CONTACT ANDREA SHAW @  bouv...@bellsouth.net IF YOU CAN GIVE "DAKOTA" A LOVING FOREVER HOME THAT HE SOOOO DESERVES.

Note from JoAnn Goodrich, Foster Mom: Dakota helped to ease the pain after the loss of our beloved Bouvier, Lexi.  Now it is his turn for us to help him find a prefect home.  Kenny & I refer to Dakota as "Dak" and he is one of the most awesome angels we have ever met.  We love being his foster parents as he is so smart and obedient. Dak is truly a lover as he gets along well with tiny to large dogs, birds, kids and puts a smile on the face of all who meet him.  If you are looking for a dog that will love you unconditionally, walk and sleep by your side ... this guy is for you.  I'm sure many of you are saying, "JoAnn, why don't you adopt Dak?" My answer is, "We are just not ready to adopt another baby this soon after Lexi's passing." Thank you for considering this gentle giant with a heart of gold.  Thanks to all for what you do every day to save precious lives.  Sincerely, JoAnn

Subject: "BouviDale" Dakota - needs new Forever Home in Florida

Hi, fellow rescuers & dog lovers:

I am so hoping that there is someone "out there" who is IN FLORIDA - so we can find a new home for DAKOTA, the "BouviDale".

Dakota is one a litter of 8 that I whelped 3/20/2007 - the product of an accidental breeding between his Bouvier Sire, and our Airedale Terrier "BeeGee".
Both of Dakota's parents are from multi-Ch. bloodlines, with OFA'd hips excellent & good. Both parents also achieved their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Certifications.
My hubby & I raised the litter of 8 pups (7 boys & 1 girl) with love, care, superior diet and a multitude of socialization exposures.

Dakota is truly a lovely dog.
The entire litter lives in Florida, and I want to find a home for him in Florida.

4 of his brothers and his Airedale Momma live with us at our home in Ft. Lauderdale.
(Sadly, the Sire died in 2007 when the pups were just shy of a month old - as a result of being fed tainted/poisioned/recalled dog food that was not at the time on the recall list.
Only the Sire was fed this food, from a freshly-purchased bag, for only 1 1/2 days - not Momma "BeeGee", or the litter. The poisoned food killed the Sire within 4 days of ingesting this food...).

I placed Dakota with a family in 2007 when he was 11 weeks old (they had 2 young children & 2 other dogs at the time).
Due to a family illness & the addition of 2 more children to their family, on June 30th the family he had been with for 4 years informed me that they were unable to continue to keep him
and I also learned that he was being neglected - so I immediately repossessed him

I have spent quality time with Dakota since I repossessed him - just he and I went on a road trip over July 4th weekend (we visited/stayed with friends who have 7 dogs, and Dakota integrated with them quickly and got along well with all - even a few that are "moody" and "snippy").

So, I got to really reassess him - and know that he is very well socialized and a VERY fast bonder.

Dakota is presently being fostered in W. Palm Beach with JoAnn Goodrich - she and her hubby have truly been a Godsend to us!
I wish I could have brought him back home to live with us, however because we have 4 of his littermates (all boys) and their Momma BeeGee I am unable to re-integrate him with our very tightly-knit pack.

Dakota is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots, healthy, flea & tick free, is approx. 27" at the shoulder, and weighs about 84 lbs.
He recently had a hematoma surgically removed from his left ear, and it is healing very nicely.

His coat is hair - not fur - and he sheds very little, if at all.
His hair is presently trimmed short for the summer, and if allowed to grow out it will be very much like a Bouvier's coat, with slight waves and curls.

Dakota has an extremely well-balanced personality and is gentle natured - he LOVES to just "be" with you, and loves his walks and to go for rides in the car.
He is really good with children, infants and other dogs (and even parrots, too). He definitely does NOT like cats!
He is also not an instigator or a fight-picker at all, he knows all of his commands (come, sit, stay, down, release, "no", etc...),
and he is very respectful and polite.

A gentle 'giant' and a true family companion dog - he needs a new Forever Home - and (as I am his "Grammy") I very much want it to be here in Florida.

Some photos of Dakota are attached.
He has docked tail and natural (what's 'natural' for a "BouviDale"?!) ears, as well.

Dakota just needs a loving new family in Florida who is willing to have a true "companion" dog, and who must have a fenced yard so he can romp & play to run off his natural-pent-up steam.

He will arrive at his new Forever Home with all of his wonderful charms and his vet records, too.

For more information about Dakota, or if you would like to see more photos,
please contact Andrea Shaw at  bouv...@bellsouth.net  or call her at (954) 465-0699.

Thank you!!
Andrea Shaw

P.S. Completion of an adoption application will be required, and Dakota's adoption fee is $275.00
