Being paralyzed means Baoyun is helpless, strength and dex are treated as 0 and he takes a -4 penalty to AC.

Doesn't Marc have blind-fight?
It's a trap! Father Rousas Abrahmo attempts to avenge the death of Lord Senator Kurios, ambushing the Doge of the "Vampire Republic" with a holy word amidst the winding stairs of the cloister well. Marc du Quesnay is blinded, while the heathen Baoyun is struck down with multiple afflictions. Only Vicar Joseph remains standing, spared by a shared faith. Clasping the token he received in Heiros, the good paladin prepares to invoke word of recall and spirit his friends to safety....
Hello everyone. We're in a tricky situation. . . .
It's a trap! Father Rousas Abrahmo attempts to avenge the death of Lord Senator Kurios, ambushing the Doge . . . Please read the below carefully and send me dice rolls as necessary.
Five will saves from Joseph. The sisters are using 2nd level spells and possess a wisdom of 16, so save DC is 15.
If you fail any saving throw, and intend to throw a fortune point to reroll a failure, then please tell me and give me a second roll.
. So. Richard please give me a second will save roll for any successful saving throw
I request everyone's CMD immediately to resolve the attacks.
The grasping grey hands don't have improved grapple, so anyone who gets and wishes to make an attack(s) of opportunity against the reaching arms should provide me with one to a maximum of three attack rolls.

Hello everyone. We're in a tricky situation. . . .
Just to throw in a metagame suggestion, we could retcon this by:As I recall the ring was last recharged and destination set before St Dianne's was rediscovered. In addition I don't recall as said last session where it was set to. Therefore, the location while reasonably would have been the Votive Order in Carnelian, it may have been set to Heiros as a means of travel on church or diplomatic business. Or equally having traveled to and from Heiros on church or diplomatic business it has not been reset as yet. This avoids the
If you rule this, I'm happy to accept this and take the blame for disappointing both other players. This keeps the scenario on track.
Mean while:Joseph's CMD is 24.

Possible questions:
Have you designated a bishop's chair in the Catacomb Church? Please note that squirreling one away in a quiet corner room is a totally legit tactic, especially when there's some complication regarding the institutional politics of different Celestial Church orders. (Of course, even if the answer is "no", you could still recall to any bishop's seat you've already personally visited.)
I haven’t looked at the map for St Dianne’s recently, let alone review Joseph’s plans of the restoration and opening of the church.
Are you willing to recall even if it means leaving Baoyun or Marc behind? The grey hands seem to be dragging Baoyun's prone body towards the pit...
Definitely not, as the ring will get the three of us out, it is thinkable. Abandoning anyone is not acceptable, it’s an escape plan if we can all escape.
If you do teleport out to the Catacomb church, what do you expect to do from there? Giving the DM space to plan would help.
The first thing is to get His Excellency to a place of safety. Then lodge a formal protest in the strongest diplomatic language and recommend to the Doge that Father Abrahmo’s accreditation be rescinded and he be expelled. This is of course likely to result in a tit for tat response.
And should the suggestion [Of crying havoc and letting loose the Ambassador of war] be made remind the Doge that there is a (limited) time period that Father Abrahmo should have to leave or transit out of Carnelian. And that is appropriate for maintaining even strained diplomatic relations.

(After rules consultation with Rory.)
The grey hands drag Baoyun the distance (5') to very edge of the well. Another moment's inattention and they will throw him below....
As Baoyun, is currently incapable of saving himself, Joseph intercedes. Striking away the arms from around Bayoun and dragging him a little way back from the edge. And of course speaking to Marc loudly enough to be heard for him to move towards us.
Only to discover Marc appears to be deaf and blind, apparently lashing out at random.
