OTHER!
Write a little something about yourself, maybe how you found out about
the Ball or why you are excited about going. Tell us about some other
Potter fandom things you've done or that you enjoy.
I'll go first!

Monica). I'm Minister of Magical Events for hp-ohio and this is my
second year working on the Crystal Ball.
I'm really looking forward to the addition of Wizard Rock to ball!
Way back in the summer of 2006, when the "Ultimate" Yule ball was just
a REALLY GREAT IDEA the two things I really wanted for a Yule Ball was
a castle and Draco and the Malfoys to play at it (oh, and an awesome
dress-so I guess that's three things). Anyway, last year I had a
great dress and a castle and this year I get my last wish, so I'm
pretty squeeful!!! Having The Whomping Willows play too is just
frosting on the castle cake (yeah, we're gonna have that too)!!
As far as my fandom activities go:
-I attended Phoenix Rising this year and played quidditch on the
Shreiking Shack team (aka the Wrock team) hence the fufillment of the
aforementioned wish.
-I was part of the Wizarding Wilmington planning team. WizWil was a
town wide book 7 release event in Southern Ohio that hosted 6000+
crazy HP fans. Totally huge, crazy fun!
-I just attended Wrockstock which was absolutely one of the best times
of my life. Some of you may know me as either Cole or BabyVoldemort's
mom.
- I've dabbled in a bit of fanfic writing here and there as well as
spending the better part of the last 8 years (yes, since 1999)
formulating theories. Theories were my favorite-I miss them deeply.
I think planning HP events will need to replace theories as my new
favorite.
As far as me personally:
-I live in Lebanon, Ohio with my husband, two sons, two dogs and a cat-
it's a bit of a crazy home.
-I've moved around A LOT and traveled even more. Chances are,
wherever you're from, I've been there or somewhere close to there.
-The only thing I like better than travelling is new experiences.
-I live to have fun.

Online I'm known as Jaina12 (on the boards) or VoldieBeth (on LJ and
other blog sites). I'm the ticket master and organizer for the
Crystal Ball this year. I'm very excited that we got Draco and the
Malfoys and the Whomping Willows to play at our castle (Ha! a real
castle!) I can't wait for the Crystal Ball!
Fandom Activities:
~I got dragged into cosplay. I usually dress up as Voldemort or
Narcissa Malfoy when I'm at HP events, though I've also done an Irish
Quidditch player and Lucius Malfoy. I've been to many HP cons, The
Witching Hour, Lumos, Phoenix Rising, Prophecy, and will attend
Terminus next year.
~I've also attended Wizarding Wilmington, Wrockstock, and will try to
make it to Wrock the Boat next year.
~I'm also co-captain of Ohio Northern United Quidditch team and have
played Quidditch at all the cons.
Personality:
~I'm a true Slytherin with a little Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in me, no
traces of Gryffindor what so ever!
~I live in Kent, Ohio and teach Algebra at Kent State University. I
am also going to grad school there as well (just have to decide what).
~I love to travel and will never pass up an opertunity to get in my
car and go some place new!

I'm Manda, Minister of Online Affairs! I run the website, the forums and cafepress shop :) On the forums I used the handle generalmanda and for the most part I use that or PyrateM in the fandom. I'm really looking forward to the ball this year because it feels like we got a bit of everything and now that we're "old hands" at this we can tweak the things that worked or didn't work last year and make it better than ever! The inclusion of wrock to the schedule is going to be great! Whompy and Dracos always have so much energy so I don't think any of our guests will be disappointed!
Fandom Wise...
I'm involved in a lot of cosplay and costume making -- it's such a great hobby! Usually I create items for big events like book releases, movie releases, conferences, and of course MARCON!
I attended The Witching Hour in '05, Lumos in '06, Phoenix Rising in '07 and Wrockstock in '07. I volunteered on the Logistics team for PR and that was how I got involved with the wonderful women who run Narrate Conferences. They approached me about working on Terminus and I'm happy to say I accepted and am now the Design Coordinator! I really have enjoyed it and it's been a great learning experience.
I read, write and illustrate fanfic on occasion... not a lot lately, but I do enjoy that aspect of the fandom. So much creativity!
As far as hp-ohio goes, I think I've had a hand in a little of everything we've done for the last 3 years and it's been such a blast and wonderful part of my life :)

I'm Ashley, HP-Ohio's unofficial Wizard Rock Expert. (can I get that
title made official? lol) I'm really looking forward to the ball this
year because it will be my first time at the CB and I can't wait to
see Whompy and the Dracos again. They're pretty awesome friends that I
don't get to see often enough. I'm counting down the days 'til the
Crystal Ball and cannot wait!
Fandom activities:
-HP-Ohio for a few months now and have enjoyed every minute of it
-Wizarding Wilmington for the DH release
-Countless WRock concerts
-Prophecy 2007
-Will be attending Wrock Chicago and Terminus in 2008
-I write fanfiction on fanfiction.net (using the pen name
DarkForest214 if anyone wants to check it out)
-I host the Podcast of Awesome, an all wizard rock podcast that
features some pretty darn awesome bands and has band members co-host
as much as possible.
Random bits and pieces:
-Was a hardcore Hufflepuff until roughly 4 in the morning October 13th
when Brian Malfoy convinced me I was really a Slytherin... Now I
embrace my inner Slytherin despite my Hufflepuff Kilt.
-That's right, I said kilt. I play the bagpipes. I'm in the Colloge of
Wooster Pipe Band and hope to be inducted into the Akron and District
Pipe Band soon. And look to attend the Ohio Scottish Arts School again
next summer (if I can afford it after paying for Terminus!)
-Currently a sophomore at the College of Wooster (Whompy will be
performing Nov. 15th on campus, HP-Ohioers welcome, contact me for
details)
-I love to travel and I hope to study abroad in the spring of 09 in
Scotland at the University of Aberdeen.
-I'm a very musical person, I play 5 instruments and can sing. I can
usually be found with my trusty Dell MP3 player and headphones on with
a book or knitting/crocheting.

I'm Sara, a complete and utter newbie to HP-Ohio, and this will be my
first Crystal Ball. I'm excited that I found out about this, since I'm
always looking to find people that are interested in the same stuff as
me.
Fandom Activities:
-I was pretty low-key until last year, when the idea for the Ultimate
Lucius and Narcissa cosplay popped in to my head, and that became the
focus of my fandom efforts.
-I'm hoping to become involved with the quiddich practices.
-I've done fan-based RPGs in the Potter-verse. If we're playing canon
characters, I usually end up with Draco (novel era), Lucius (marauder
era), or the Dark Lord himself (either era).
-I've also done some fanfiction, but nothing that's too recent thanks
to working on the masters degree which has sucked all enjoyment out of
writing.
Randomness:
-I've always been proud of the fact that I've been a Slytherin on
every Sorting Quiz I've taken.
-I ride/train/compete in the equestrian discipline of dressage. If I
could make a decent living doing that, I would. I have two Dutch
Warmbloods.
-I've lived in Jersey and Florida, yet I prefer Ohio. People look at
me strange when I say that.
-I've been cosplaying since 2001.
-I'm hoping to go back to both Vegas and Amsterdam in 2008. There are
too many things that I still haven't done in both places.

I'm Judyth - a newbee to HP Ohio but a longtime fan of all things HP!
I'm so excited to go to the Crystal Ball this year. I am creating a
gown in black and green which is near done, it is a medieval look
bustle gown for Narcissa Malfoy - and my sweetheart is going as
Lucius. My best friend Angie is going as Andromeda Tonks, and
HOPEFULLY my 2 other silly friends are coming as Sirius Black and
Bellatrix (see image below).

I am a very outgoing, fun person - and trust me - I LOVE getting

We're in the Kihm suite on the second level of the castle. Angie has

~I also roleplay her on myspace which I began in 2004. I have a
Bellatrix account too for when I'm feeling evil. Heh, but I am not on

~I'm on LJ in the HP costuming community, I read and comment fairly
regularly.
~I've also attended The Last Extravaganza at Hudson, Ohio this year
and last book in full Narcissa regalia. I created the costumes, but
am not comfortable calling myself a professional seamstress. I have
no bloody patience. LOL
~I am performing this year with a band bellydancing at Terminus as
Cissa, my Troupe partner Habari will be Bellatrix.
Personality:
~I'm a Slytherin and a professional bellydancer - heh. Dances with
snakes and swords. Woot!
~I'm also a certified Yoga instructor and work with people with

~I live in Lakewood, Ohio and have 2 girls Genna 10 (Gryffindor) and

will be my first Crystal Ball at Landoll's. I'll be in muggle-ish
dress robes but with a wizardy twist.
Fandom-related:
-Really into wizard rock.
-Smut. 'Nuff said. :) Written and drawn. Snape/Hermione OTP.
-Half Gryffindor half Slytherin but when it comes down to morals,
Gryffindor wins out.
Other Stuff:
-Really into sci-fi and that's what I usually cosplay. I've made an
original series Star Trek uniform I wear at most cons and events.
-I've lived in Ohio for a few years and I love Columbus (and people

-I love skydiving, white-water rafting, travelling, dancing, anything
