Request for Lateral Flow Tests to be taken prior to rehearsals

Hi everyone.

We have had some feedback from members rightly highlighting that our focus on this aspect of rehearsals is reducing and we should be more diligent than we are being.

We are revisiting our Covid risk mitigation measures and procedures.

We are (ideally with immediate effect ie today, but certainly from next week 1 Dec 2021) introducing a new request of people who attend Crystal Palace Main and Progress Band rehearsals.

We are asking everyone to take a Covid Lateral Flow Test (freely available from high street pharmacies) prior to attending rehearsal, and to only attend if the result is negative. This is a very late request for this evening. If for any reason it is not possible to take a test (eg. You don’t have any test kits available currently), for this week please do not worry. We would like to make this measure mandatory from next Wednesday (1 Dec 2021). Still follow the general request to not attend if you answer yes to any of the questions in the Muzodo invite:

• Do you have any Covid symptoms?
• Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid?
• Have you been contacted by the national test and trace service and told to isolate?
• Have you returned from abroad and been told to isolate?

We are asking people to space themselves out more than has been common practice in recent weeks while at rehearsal. We are also asking that people respect general Covid safety  - eg. don’t spend time in close proximity to others. Follow all the Covid advice in the Muzodo invite.

Over the next few days we will get a little more specific about what we are asking people to do to focus a little more on Covid safety.

In the meantime, please use common sense to minimise risk of transmission.
