It's not like I am the garbage police, but as a retired doctor, I see the potential for a real Public Health problem due to our improper procedure resulting in our garbage being

strewn about and opened to fly infestation.
Below you will see photos of what is happening to the neatly bagged kitchen garbage after the raccoons and birds have at it. This really must stop. It is so simple to put our trash in the small dumpster where it can be contained with a lid (especially over the weekend, but really every day).
Our neighbors have flown a drone over this area and have proof that we are violating Collier County  codes. You can't blame them if they file suit against us for trash in their yards and unnecessary odor.
If there is some reason you.are not placing your trash in the dumpster as required, plaese post it so we can figure a solution to this serious problem.
Let's be creative and fix this.

I was just there yesterday at 4 PM and it was neat and clean.  Had to happen after that.

Cameras should show what it is that can't read

Since there are individuals that are devoid of understanding, it appears that it is time to install a quality camera which can zoom in when a person approaches this area to record what is happening.  Have the camera with sufficient storage capacity and capable of sending a signal to our Manager so he can have instant monitoring ability.
Just a thought.

My thought is that these messages are not getting to the people that need to see it. They are probably not in this group and may not be an owner getting messages from the Admin office. Fancy cameras would be great but our motion detection trail camera works good day and night. Also, when renters come into the park, they should be given (and verbally gone over) a sheet with our rules expanding on the trash pickup and drop off area rules and the repercussions from people doing what's in the photo. And are we sure that it's people from our park who are doing this? Is there a way to view possible paperwork in the trash to see if there is a name of someone? I know that sounds icky but where there's a will, there's a way.

I agree Diane Hall.  Some people came in Thursday night and no one was in the office.   They did not
Have a clue where to go and what to do.  There was a language barrier.  Felt bad they had not been instructed n what to do.   Maybe a sign telling people use this container for garbage.  People that don’t know the rules can’t be blamed.

If it’s as important as it seems, maybe they should put a cover over the opening when it’s not in use, maybe even lock it.

If you need near 100% compliance, relying on people’s good sense, with or without cameras, with or without berating them, doesn’t seem likely to be successful.

Often people don’t read signs and tend to take the easier route. Throwing it in the compactor is easier than lifting the lid on the dumpster, especially for those who may have difficulty physically lifting a dumpster lid.

I was at the garbage site yesterday morning about 10AM and on the stairs were 4 bags of trash including Chinese take out bags. I put them in the covered trash along with mine.
We are fortunate here to have 3 days of garbage pickup. I have relatives in another community and they have only once a week.
Can’t we get  friends some odor infused garbage bags at Publics and on non garbage days just keep it until pick up day. 1 day will not hurt anyone.
We certainly don’t want the health or Collier to come in and fine us please friends let’s get this done. Thanks, HelenD#2110

I saw a fifth wheel pulling in this afternoon now I know there was no one in the office the fifth wheel pulls by us 2080 and goes all the way down to the horizons, Why is there not a person in the rental office? I seriously don’t think that anyone that is in our community would just dump their garbage there I think that there is a hole somewhere and they’re coming in that way because you know there has been summers when people have come in and broken into homes . We are here a little longer because Tom has to have a procedure done in June and really there’s not a lot of people here.

I am very  aware and understanding of the trash concerns but my arthritis prevents me from getting my trash to the curb in the morning.
I often take my trash to the dumpster in the afternoon and the top is usually closed so I wait until one of our maintenance men arrives and helps to open the closed top.
My suggestion is that our maintenance crew, as long as no rain, keep the lid open and are responsible to close it at the end of their work day.
Thanks.

Maybe a smaller can with a lid might help. This way you won’t have to clump up the steps and the lid would be easier to left and close.

These ideas need to be presented to the POA office or a Board member to actually get noticed.
