Good morning, I hope you are enjoying the beauty of the snowflakes landing on the ground creating a sense of soft calmness. I am sending this message as a means of expressing my sincerest appreciation for all of the members who made the club contest possible for Crystal City Evening Toastmasters.
We were ready to start exactly at 7:15 pm and we ended on time which allowed the room to be cleaned up quickly and efficiently. We had a full house and we even had to add an extra row of chairs. This is a welcome practice for anyone running a show.
Please join me in congratulating all our competitors but especially Kris Kashinov who took first in the evaluation contest and Saul Cizek who took first in the international speech contest. Jose Salinas competed for the first time after being with our club for only a handful of months. That level of enthusiasm is admirable. He took second place in the evaluation contest.
I watched from the wings with a big smile at how well all our members worked together. People approached me to let me know that they were there to help. That level of enthusiasm is contagious. I hope we can continue that level of support as our fellow Toastmasters ask for our help with their respective competitions.
As a reminder the Area 14 Contest is on March 23 and the the Division A Contest is on May 4, 2019. Please take advantage of the early bird registration fee for the District 27 conference on May 3-4, 2019. CCET members are receiving partial scholarships if they register early based on the resolution that was passed two weeks ago.
Again, thank you for all your support. Be well and stay warm!
