`Narayana Suktam is one of the most popular and widely chanted hymns in the Vedas. It is part of the Taittiriya Aranyaka of the Krishna Yajur Veda. It consists of 16 verses (mantras) that praise and worship Lord Narayana as the source and sustainer of all creation.
`The word Narayana means "the one who rests on the waters" or "the one who pervades all beings". According to Hindu mythology, Narayana is the original form of Lord Vishnu, who reclines on the cosmic ocean of milk (Ksheera Sagara) on the serpent Adisesha.
