Hey all,

I'm going to make up some basic and pretty easy puzzles for people new to crypto to learn about Rot13, Vigenère, Playfair, Base 64, etc.

Tony since you are doing an intro to cryptanalysis, are there any types of puzzles you would like to see so that people could apply what they learn to puzzle hanging on the wall or on sheets of paper on the tables?

Also, if there is a type of crypto/cipher I should use for one of the posters that you guys feel strongly about, let me know by 5pm tonight. I'm going to create them after I'm finished studying.

Thanks!

Whitney

I'll be doing Caesar and Vigenere as part of the cryptanalysis class, and can take care of the posters for that specifically.

Seth and I had brainstormed putting the pigpen and playfair. And, if possible, it'd be cool to do a poster about one-time pads

Yah, I was just going to have some puzzles people can solve. If you have any you want to send my way, a friend is going to make them pretty so we can print them into posters.

I've put in a quote with the merit badge place and, cross your fingers, we should have crypto merit badges.

I'm ordering 50 of them (kinda pricy already) and will be giving them out to people who can write programs to solve Vigenere ciphers. Gonna require people show their homework ;)
