Hi,

Does anybody have experience with using Cryptopp on zLinux, i.e. Linux
on
IBM zSeries machines? We have a Java app which uses DES to encrypt a
value
and a C++ app that decrypts that value. On Linux/x86 and Solaris/32-
bit it
works fine, however on zLinux it produces garbage.

Did somebody else try on this platform? It's 64-bit. Any known issue
with
this?

BTW, we are still using crypto 5.1 because of lack of time to upgrade.
Should I expect this to work in newer versions?

Thanks... Dominik.

Hi Dominik,

How does zLinux perform using FIPS test vectors?

Hi,

We did not run the tests as we are only using DES and avoided running the full suite of tests. Furthermore as we didn't have time to do further analysis, we switched to a different DES implementation in the meantime to avoid the problem, sorry. It seems there is some problem with crypto on 64-bit systems, with the different platform or with the different distribution. On x86 we use Red Hat 4, on zLinux SUSE 10.

Thanks... Dominik.
