i bought na 1 R9 280x and power supply.. start ko na po mag test mag mine.. gagamitin ko lang po ung existing desktop ko.. question ko po ay.. ok lang po ba na ung monitor sa built in pa rin nakalagay or kelangan po dun na cya sa R9 280x? ung video card pala na un alang socket pang monitor.. kita ko ung ke azhul meron sya dummy.. thanks po..

Looks like I bricked my 2GPU (sapphire 7950 dualx with boost and MSI HD R 7950 Twin Frozr) the last thing i did before sila madeads

is tuning up using MSI Afterbuner (windows 7) then biglang nanghang yung rig, ayaw na mag boot, until i tried Bamt, nag boot nman pero out of my 3 GPU only 1 nalng ang bnabasa.

yung 2 di nya mabasa.
I tried flashing via ATI flash and bootable windows 98, 

When type the command "atiflash.exe -ai" wla syang pinapakitang GPU,

OMG. what should i do?
sana may pag asa pa to. fan is working pa nman.

baka naman pede isa isa I try yung card. otherwise try to resort to warranty baka naman tanggapin pa sa distro kung ayaw talaga mag boot.

there are 2 bios actually in the gpu.  it is located at the top, there are 2 options numbered 1 and 2 as a switch.  that means 2 bios settings. flip mo lang sa kabila yung switch (1 or 2) then try mo again bamt kung detectd na using aticonfig --lsa command at root terminal.

bro @maru, may nga distro pa yata ito. 
gusto ko sana agapan pra makapagtrbaho na yung mga GPU?
matagal kasi sa distron.

@hashpuppy, i tried switching the switch, from default(2) to swtich 1, then I tried booting one by one, no luck.. 5 beeps prin (according to asrock, it is GPU problem)

Guys, I need help setting up my Linux ~ BAMT software sa USB flashdrive. I can't seem to get it going.

I got BAMT 1.3 pero palpak sya e.

 I tried BAMT 1.1, hindi naman nya supported ang video cards ko ( 2x R9-280X)

Right now i'm looking into SMOS v1.3. Still downloading it. Sabi sa readme, it supports R9 200 series daw, and I can only hope its true.

Dba guys wala naman BAMT 1.2 ? Meron ako nakitang instructions on how to update the drivers in BAMT 1.1 for 280x support dito sa link na ito:

Kaso I have no linux knowhow, kaya gusto ko sana ng 1step solution.

and it definitely paid off! Mahabang processo but it deifnitely paid off. na detect kc agad ang vidcards ko as r9-200 series then I got my hash rates up to 710 per gpu, no OC. Next step for me is to tweak to get the most hashrate. hehe

Sir will be contacting u for advice and regarding pcie riser cards. ang init kc nitong vidcards ko, I'm planning to do all I can to reduce heat para mapa haba buhay ng cards.. again, thanks in advance! =)

if purely for hashrate go for 3x 7950 since each card can give 600-700khash for roughly 250W consumption each using this chart:

it would be preferable to compute for profitability using the numerous online calculators out there, but without specific experience, you can just plug in 600khs for the 7950 with 250W power consumption using the values from the chart I referred to earlier. the 280x would give you 700-750khs with 250W using the same chart.

if going for gaming, it would be your call. the 280x is a rebadged 7970 BTW.

numerous factors can affect your decision also such as temperatures and card availability.

for me, I would go for 3 7950 if the price is same as 2 280x,

yung 600-650 khash ng 7950 nka todo meaning high temps, and full fan speed.
while yung 750 khash ng r9 280x.. nsa 70 -74C (tanghali) lang sa akin.

so less temps, less stress ang fan...

Mag 1000 watts ka na para pag naisipan mo pa mag add ng gpu eh ka kasya pa isa

sa office ko po kasi ilalagay kaya di pwede open case hehe, kaya max 2 gpu lang pwede, nabasa ko kasi na pag close case daw tapos 3 cards nag over heat yung nasa gitna

i strongly advise against mining with 2x 280x inside a case na hindi open ang side panel. the heat is simply too much, kahit open pa yun side panel u will need a stand fan na nakatutok para lang hindi mag 80 ang temps mo.

hehe biglang 83C and still rising ano? naka 100% fan na yun sa lagay na yun. in my case, would u believe meron pang alarm sound na tumunog when i tried that. cguro sa trixx yun. biglang siren sound ba naman, nakaka taranta hahaha

yun 280x ko at least 270 watts ang kinakain na kuryente. ipagpalagay mo na yung 280x mo at stock settings, kakain ng 300W.. it would seem na still within spec dahil 550w naman ang psu mo

BUT    (and this is a big but)

Be prepared na kulang ang amperes (?) ng psu mo when it comes to supplying the vddc at 99% GPU activity level. And if so, u will need to either:

1. buy a new psu para makapag mine ng maximum khs (280x can deliver 720++ kh/s dba)
2. lower ur gpu settings para stable ang system mo considering that ur psu cannot deliver enough power to ur gpu

Here's my scenario:

vddc is set at 1.15 which my psu is capable of delivering kapag hindi nagma mine ang gpu

vddc drops to 1.008v while mining at any intensity level (basta gpu activity is 90+%) 

u will ask: bakit kung kelan kailangan yun vddc, tsaka bumabagsak? the answer i think is luma na ang psu ko. it's 23mos old, corsair tx650w bronze plus (daw). anyway my solution is to lower core speed para stable ang system, dahi hindi pa nagrerestock ng mga psu ang shops until now (grrr). when available, i plan to use a 750w seasonic bronze for my desktop.

just a warning to u, para handa ka sa possibility na ito =)

anyway, here's a psu calculator for ur reference. in future, u'll always be referring to that link whenever u have questions about power sufficiency =)

quick tip: why dont u use ur 7770 to test ur psu's ability to supply adequate vddc when mining? install ka GPU-Z and check mo dun ang vddc ng gpu mo when idle, when gaming, and then when mining. if u notice that ur gpu doesnt get the right vddc while LOADED, may prob na psu mo

after the test u conducted, so far so good! encouraging ang results ng experiment!
i just want to point out, it's still possible na kapusin yun psu mo sa 280x (matakaw talaga sya sa kuryente e!) .. pero.. so far so good! =)
