It's no surprise that a lot of guilt is associated with pursuing things that are seemingly unrelated to work, "Too many people view hobbies as frivolous, something we should only do when we have time left over from our "real" priorities. We don't feel productive when engaged in a hobby, so we think we are wasting time." - Payne Resilience

In my recent learning spree, I've been exploring the benefits of hunting down unusual knowledge and getting smart by not worrying about where the crowd is going. What did I learn? Don't underestimate things that fire up your creativity and passion because they help you achieve parallel growth that will eventually trickle over to your professional life.

You might have tried out an open-water dive with PADI in one of your tropical vacations, technical diving is essentially the path beyond recreational diving where you exceeds the designated depths and bottom time.

Developing the ability to stay calm under pressure means that you are less likely to suffer from the effects of stress, anxiety, and worry. In diving, this entails the ability to understand and control your breathing. When we panic, we lose the ability to see the solutions that are right in front of us. Sometimes, it only takes one deep breath to unlock this ability. Diving has taught me the science behind proper breathing. Taking deep breaths and being mindful of our inhalations and exhalations allow us to have greater control over our mind and body.

With this lesson, instead of rushing to act right away in high-stress situations and environments, I take deep breaths, nourish my mind and body with the much-needed oxygen to function. I pause, find calm, before I start to think and act.

Planning is a learned behaviour of mine, it has never been quite natural to me. Partly, I attribute this learned skill to technical diving. I learned to stay organised and handle multiple requirements at the same. We learned how to calculate the gas we need for each dive, on top of that, understand the suitability of gases, the equipment required, and arrange the logistics to make each dive safe.

In tech diving, there is this dichotomy between being self-sufficient but within a team environment. Being in the position to help others, requires you to be equipped to support yourself first and foremost. I learned how to be physically and mentally fit to be able to save a buddy in the event of an emergency. Being each other's life-line requires us to have the highest level of teamwork and communication.

Bringing this back to work, I ensure that we always do everything as a team, whether that is to succeed or to deal with failure. At the start of any project, I assess what helps everyone in the team become their best and ensuring that we are all supporting towards enabling this version of each other to emerge.

I've always felt that diving was the closest thing to being an astronaut. We encounter alien life forms in an alien environment. With the support of modern equipment and technologies, we're able to stay alive in places where we shouldn't be in in the first place.

Fields like space exploration have always fascinated me because at the core of it is the belief in the impossible. This drive is what fuels the thirst for adventure to discover what lies beyond, testing the boundaries of human anatomy, courage, and curiosity.

Thanks to these progress in human exploration, we are empowered with knowledge and tools to do so many things. Innovations and technologies developed by NASA are now powering industries (Medicine, diving, exploration etc.) The importance of exploration, pushing boundaries, and venturing to areas that might not be so familiar is what pushes humanity forward.

Above all, diving has also brought about a heightened awareness of our impact and oneness with nature and the seas. The landscape underwater has drastically changed and deteriorated because of our irresponsible behaviours. It's still a question I'm currently exploring, complex, and simple at the same time. Are we responsible for the destruction? What can we do to combat it? Amidst the feeling of insignificance, how can we generate such destruction? What is the cost of exploration?

Being stuck in Singapore during this pandemic has definitely halted a few planned adventures and technical training, but it also enabled a different kind of exploration - meeting equally passionate underwater explorers and preservation specialists. My journey with technical diving has just started and I'm so excited to see what lies beyond, for now, I'm looking forward to trying out DPV diving.

Summary: This letter describes changes made in the selection of 2015-2016 FAFSA applicants for an Unusual Enrollment History Flag. It also provides information on institutional responsibilities to resolve such flags.

In Dear Colleague Letter GEN-13-09, published on March 8, 2013, we provided information regarding the initiation of an Unusual Enrollment History Flag (UEH Flag), which first appeared on 2013-2014 Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs). As noted in the March 8 letter, the UEH Flag is intended to address possible abuse in the Title IV student aid programs; specifically, when a student attends an institution long enough to receive a Title IV credit balance, leaves without completing the enrollment period, and then enrolls at another institution, repeating the pattern of remaining just long enough to collect a Title IV credit balance without earning any academic credit.

This change addresses the concern that the review of three prior award years could result in a student not receiving a UEH Flag because of not enrolling for one year, even with a continuing unusual enrollment history. Therefore, institutions must consider all four award years when evaluating if the student completed any academic credit for which Pell or Federal Direct Loan funds were provided, or whether the student had a valid reason for not earning any credit.

The institutional resolution guidance for UEH Flags that was provided in Dear Colleague Letter GEN-13-09 is applicable for both the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 FAFSA processing years. For reference, we provide a summary of that guidance below but we urge institutions to review the full guidance provided in the earlier Dear Colleague Letter.

Based upon academic transcripts the institution may already possess, or by asking the student to provide academic transcripts or grade reports, the institution must determine, for each of the previously attended institutions, whether academic credit was earned during the award year in which the student received Pell Grant and/or Federal Direct Loan funds. Academic credit is considered to have been earned if the academic records show that the student completed any credit hours or clock hours.

thank you very much for your KB-Post. The Unusual Detection always compares back to the same time of day (and day of the week), into the past. And for this comparison it then uses an hourly average (of this time of day, day of the week). Against this average, the last value is compared, and if the value differs too much, the unusual state is triggered.
You can change the "thresholds" in the System Settings. If the current values show a difference above the threshold, the sensor will probably show the unusual state for at least this one hour (as the base is a hourly average), until either the current values go "back" to normal, or there is another average.
Changing the Graph Settings actually causes a recalculate of the "Graph Cache", during this process the Unusual Detection will be paused.

Okay, well, something obviously got stuck, because the message remained for three days and the value in the message did not change during those three days even though the traffic varied widely. That is why I was very confused - it kept saying "this hour", but that clearly wasn't true.

We describe a 12-year-old patient with a primary pulmonary mass in the left upper lung. The diagnosis of inflammatory pseudotumour was suspected preoperatively. After pathological examination and complete clinical evaluation, a diagnosis of malignant primary pulmonary fibrous histiocytoma was established. This is a very uncommon primary neoplasm of the lung and to our knowledge only five paediatric cases have been reported. Because of the rarity of these sarcomas and histological similarities to benign inflammatory pseudotumour, care must be taken to avoid confusion between the two disorders particularly in intra-operative frozen sections.

Conclusion: Primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the lung is an uncommon tumour that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pulmonary neoplasms of childhood. The histological diagnosis can be difficult due to the similarities with inflammatory pseudotumour.
