Musthave been an update issue since this just started happening. I can no longer listen to the sound when i view a camera via my bluetooth earphones. The sound only plays on my speaker of my phone. All permissions were allowed, also reinstalled the app. Sound works fine with everything else using my earphones on my phone.

I have a s21 ultra, app is up to date. This just started happening, maybe from the last app update. Right when i click on the sound to listen from the cam, it switches to the phone speaker audio. When i turn it off and i adjust the volume it switches to the earbuds.

I am having the same issue. Drives me crazy as sometimes I keep my camera open when kids come home from school and would like to have kept them in my ear but now it plays on my phone speaker. It used to work fine until a few months ago. I had the S21 & S24 plus and it happened on both phones.

I've been reading up on how to transfer data between iOS devices over Bluetooth using GameKit. I'm not writing a game, per se, but do have a need to transfer a small amount of binary data between two devices. Between two iOS devices, this is easy enough. However, I was wondering if it is possible to transfer data between an iOS device and an Android device via the same mechanism.

This question has been asked many times on this site and the definitive answer is: NO, you can't connect an Android phone to an iPhone over Bluetooth, and YES Apple has restrictions that prevent this.

Details on why you can't connect an arbitrary device to the iPhone. iOS allows only some bluetooth profiles to be used without the Made For iPhone (MFi) certification (HPF, A2DP, MAP...). The Serial Port Profile that you would require to implement the communication is bound to MFi membership. Membership to this program provides you to the MFi authentication module that has to be added to your hardware and takes care of authenticating the device towards the iPhone. Android phones don't have this module, so even though the physical connection may be possible to build up, the authentication step will fail. iPhone to iPhone communication is possible as both ends are able to authenticate themselves.

As iOS has yet to open up an API for WiFi Direct and Multipeer Connectivity is iOS only, I believe the best way to approach this is to use BLE, which is supported by both platforms (some better than others).

On iOS a device can act both as a BLE Central and BLE Peripheral at the same time, on Android the situation is more complex as not all devices support the BLE Peripheral state. Also the Android BLE stack is very unstable (to date).

Good evening. I have written an app using the standard beginners' bluetooth client blocks and am using an ESP32 at the far end. I have previously paired the ESP successfully to the phone, using an Arduino code example and a bluetooth terminal so the hardware is confirmed to be working.

When the listpicker is selected, the phone display turns black but does not reveal any other bluetooth devices. Any button gives a 515 error, as I would expect. I am missing a hook linking the phone to my app and have now run out of ideas. I have tried writing a standard connection app and using the MAC address of the ESP32 to no avail. Has anybody the time to explain to me what I am likely to have missed, please?

Thank you. I am far too stupid to be able to drag blocks and this is far more elaborate than the code I was expecting. I think I shall just give up and throw the last fortnight away. Life gets shorter and there are always better things to do.

No facility in the app inventor to get the "When screen 1 permission granted" decision box into my code. Not available to be written. sorry. I realise you are being helpful but this is not in any way workable forr me.

Thank you Chris.

I followed all the instructions and eventually managed to recreate the required blocks in my App.

I renamed my listpicker ListView1 and tried the code without the original connection blocks in place. Then I tried with the original connection blocks in place. I have still the same result although the first time I load the App I get a 908 error that BLUETOOTH_CONNECT permission is denied so now I know that it does not intend to connect. This seems to be a very common problem with many possible non solutions so I don't know what I ought to do next as many people seem to try to connect but never manage to.

What is the exact model name of your ESP32? I ask because some support Classic BT while others support BLE and others support both. Your Android 13 phone will most likely be BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) but be downwards compatible with Bluetooth Classic, but that is not always the case with microcontrollers like Arduino and ESP32.

When pairing headphones or buds etc with the phone, it lists what the connection is being used for - ie Phone Calls (on), Media Audio (on), Contact Sharing (off). Typically, these items are paired as a unit (ie a single pairing).

First off is the phone on the Oticon list of phones?

I have traded in my iPhone 13 for the Samsung galaxy S23 and my connectivity has drastically improved. I no longer have disconnect issues with the phone itself and less issues with the companion app.

Yes with android phones and most hearing aid brands the connectivity is hit and miss.

I asked in the android forum. they answered it was a BUG (error) on android 12 and 13. , you might want to look for a cellphone like the Google Pixel, or you can see a list of cellphones that support your hearing aids on the web .

My S23 is running Android 14 and OneUI 6 and it doesnt pass audio for phone calls. I can hear the audible ringback tone when i place a call, but neither party can hear the other. Like the OP, i have to awitch to speakerphone.

In my opinion, free hands is good and not so good. If you are in a quietly place then yes, free hands helps but if you are in shopping mall with all the noise around the other person wont hear you so well so I prefer to be able to hold my phone close to my mouth.

Oticon is using BLE and has from the beginning of using Bluetooth. So Oticon is MFi/ASHA. There are rumors that the Real aids can be upgraded to LE audio but i actually expect Oticon will introduce a new hearing aid this spring with le audio. I would be surprised if they just do a firmware update to the Real aids.

While i have the capacity to use the Bluetooth technology fully, i seldom do. I have the connect clip and use it to stream audio books from my Fire Tablet, but i am using my Bose over the ear headphones mostly because to be honest I prefer doing so.

How do you connect to the car? The Real aids will not connect directly to anything but IOS or ASHA, you would have to be using the connect clip to connect to anything else Bluetooth. The companion app will tell you the firmware level. Check under hearing aids at the bottom of the app, then hearing aid settings then hearing aid details.

I've tried all of the publicized fixes to deal w/bluetooth connectivity between an android phone and my Macbook Pro (mojave 10.14.2). It indicates "connected" for a couple of seconds then the connection fails. The phone will pair fine w/other bluetooth devices (my truck, a pc) but I tried it with another Macbook Pro and had the same issue. What muddies the water is that it actually worked with Macbook Pro for a few days before I started having this issue. Because it connects w/pc's and my truck, no problem, I'm thinking it's a Mac compatibility issue that has come up, but I'm not sure why it just started happening yesterday morning. No software changes, etc...other than ordinary automatic updates. Please help if possible. Thanks.

To narrow things down, I recommend testing this in a temporary administrator account. Knowing whether the issue can be replicated in a new user account determines if this is a system-wide issue, or if it's user account-specific: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

Depending on what functions you're trying to use when paired, you might check out the steps and settings recommendations here. These will help make sure your Mac is configured to share with devices like an Android phone: Set up Bluetooth sharing on Mac. This is a great resource that may be helpful as well: Share files between your Mac and Bluetooth devices.

Seems like android 12 had teething issues when it came to the pixel phones however long ago now, but none of the fixes on those forums are sorting the issues out for me. Very frustrating. Advice would be appreciated!

I got a new Skyworth android TV which has a built in chromecast. I want to fully control and automate it via home assistant.

I already did the native adb integration, am able to control some funtions such as volume, chromecast switching but its very limited.

If the TV remote is Infrared, i would have control it via broadlink but its bluetooth.

Using an android device (Android 13) I have paired with a Windows 10 computer in order to transfer files from the Android phone to the Windows computer. However when I try to share a photo from the Android device I see a short popup

No other error message shown, no indication on windows. Restarted both devices, re-established Bluetooth connection. But I does not work. I am unable to send a file from the android device to windows 10.

Good Morning!

I had a question/suggestion that you may have gotten before, but I wanted to run it by everyone first.

I mostly use my Samsung Galaxy S9+ to remote into my PC at home. My phone has support for a usb keyboard and mouse through an adapter that comes with the phone. However, when using the keyboard and mouse through the TeamViewer app to control my pc at home, I have to hold the primary mouse button in order for the pointer on the PC to recognize the mouse movements. Now here is my question, is there a setting I can change to make the pointer behave as if I were physically sitting at my PC using the mouse, only I'm using the bluetooth mouse connected to my phone, so I don't have to hold the primary mouse button down to get the pointer to move?

I know that this can't be that common of an issue. Most people would either use another PC or just use the touch screen, but for what I want to use it for, I need the mouse and keyboard to act as if I were physically sitting at the PC I am connected to. If there isn't a setting to change, would this even be possible to implement through the TeamViewer app itself? Possibly an input selection setting? Or maybe a passthrough? If one exists already, would you be able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help!
