Using Drive Manager to Identifying Which Drive is Which.
Drive Manager has been written to help you easily identify drives in Windows. As well as displaying the volume label it also displays vendor information so that multiply CD/DVD drives and removable drives such as USB memory drives canbe differentiated by their vendor and product Id.
Individual drives can be hidden from Windows explorer. You can do this by right clicking on a drive and selected Hide Drive from the popup menu. The drives will still be visible in Drive Manager so you can make then visible again and are now displayed in blue.
Drive Manager can be used as a Windows version of the DOS "subst" command for creating substitute drive letters for local folders as a way of doing local drive mappings. It also shows you where the subst letters are pointing to in the "Type" column.
Open Disk Management as an administrator and select the drive you want to change. Right-click and select Change Drive Letter and Paths > Change, then pick a new drive letter and choose OK > Yes. Keep in mind that you can't change the drive letter of the partition that contains the Windows operating system, which is usually the C drive.
this is logic and expected as you cancel the first session leaving some parts behind. How long do you wait before cancelling the session? For me it looks like you have an external mount point that is not reachable, leading drive manager to hang. Usually there should be a timeout after 90 sec. Can you share your /etc/fstab file.
Well, we are getting somewhere. I checked the USB drive and oddly enough, it was powered off. My mistake! Now I can access the drive again. However, when I try to access my Plex media it still says that the media is unavailable. Linked below are screenshots within Plex:
If your organization allows, you can add external people to a shared drive as long as they have an email address associated with a Google account. Any content an external person contributes (for example, edits to, creating, or uploading a file) in a shared drive created by someone in your organization is transferred to and owned by your organization.
For people whose Google Workspace edition doesn't include shared drives, you can only add them with Viewer access. However, you might be able to give them comment or edit access to specific files in the shared drive, depending on folder permissions. See How sharing a folder in a shared drive works.
* In Google Drive for desktop or files in the Chrome OS Files app, Contributor access gives only read access to files. To allow users to create, upload, and edit files in a shared drive in Google Drive for desktop and Chrome OS, give the user Content manager or Manager access.
The symptom in my case was that whenever a large amount of data was read or written to ANY external drive on my system, WD or otherwise, I would experience USB connectivity drop-outs. My mouse would stick, my keyboard backlight would flash, keys would stick, sound from my sound card would be disrupted, etc., and I could reproduce this very reliably just by running winsat disk -drive Z -seq -read.
I made an account here just to confirm that this issue happened to me! It was driving me crazy, every time I did a file transfer from my external drives my peripherals were acting up - mainly keyboard was freezing and stuttering as I was typing. I think it was also causing repeated data corruption issues I was getting from one of my external SSDs connected via USB.
WD Drive Utilities on both Windows and Mac do not see the My Book Mirror Edition drive. I might try up dating the firmware if I could but the universal firmware updater does not recognize the drive either. I would hope that there is some sort of a workaround to be able to configure/error check this drive.
Drive Manager for SIMATIC (DM4S-01) is a plug-in device tool that can be easily installed into the STEP 7 and TIA Portal. It utilizes the TCI interface of the SIMATIC PLC to communicate with the drives connected to PROFIBUS or PROFINET network.
Drive Manager for SIMATIC offers several useful ready-made features that simplify the setup of ABB low voltage drives used in combination with SIMATIC S7 PLCs including:
If using self-encrypting drive (SED) Block SID Authentication, a BIOS admin password must be activated. If SED Block SID Authentication is unnecessary, it can be disabled. For more information, reference Pre-Boot Authentication Will Not Activate Due to SED Block SID Authentication Enabled.
A self-encrypting drive must be deprovisioned before uninstalling the Dell Data Security software, preparing the drive for use in a different endpoint, or reimaging the drive. For more information, reference How to Deprovision Dell Encryption Enterprise / Personal Self-Encrypting Drive Manager / Dell Data Protection Self-Encrypting Drive Manager.
You must uninitalize the drive before uninstalling. Removing the software will not unlock the drive. IF you have already uninstalled it and it wasn't uninitalied, go to the drivers page from dell, for that model laptop and reinstall. It will have retained the passwords for all user.
The ITS Shared Drive Manager (shared-dri...@umich.edu) is added to all U-M Google shared drives and is necessary for lifecycle management of the environment. This includes the ability to enumerate the ownership (i.e., Managers) and space used for shared drives. This information is used to ensure every shared drive has eligible Managers (i.e., faculty, regular staff, and students) assigned across the lifetime of the drive and provides visibility into the total space usage in U-M Google. (ITS Shared Drive Manager does not enumerate file names or provide access to file content.)
Although Managers can remove the ITS Shared Drive Manager account from their shared drives, they are strongly advised against it. If you remove the account from your shared drive, it will be automatically added back.
The ITS Shared Drive Manager account does not access or monitor drive content. As with other collaboration services (e.g., U-M Slack), this data is only accessed in accordance with the university policy on Privacy and the Need to Monitor and Access Records (SPG 601.11).
Other Uses: Add more games to an existing microSD card, flash drive, external drive, etc. that might be used as a Steam game installation destination (which does require EXT4 or BTRFS).
No, you can't view or access a shared drive's content unless you have specifically been given access to it. However, since you are an admin, you can give yourself access. Go to admin console > apps > drive > manage shared drives. There you will find an option to manage drive members.
I have been using Insync for years but I have experienced bugs and duplications with it during that time. I want to try something new. I was considering Overgrive but there is very bad feedback about the developer. I looked at the opensource version of odrive/opendrive and vgrive but they seem to be unmaintained. I tried google-drive-ocamlfuse but it did not suit my needs.
Can anyone help me retrieve my data? I just bought a new IMAC and transferred the data via an external hard drive from a 10 year old IMAC. I cannot open my database. I copied the error message below.
Please help!!
Thanks,
Betsy
Shared drives have unlimited storage space but have some limitations on maximum daily uploads, file size, and total items. For more information on shared drive limits, refer to Google's Shared drive limits support article.
Owners of shared drives receive Manager-level access, and can add or remove members and set permissions. If all members with full access have left PSU, contact the Helpdesk to reassign Manager-level access to the shared drive.
Thanks for the input. I, too, use Time Machine for backup. The WD Drive Manager is for formatting the drive, setting up the RAID configuration ( 0 - striped, 1 - mirrored ), and changes to it, not in how it is used for backup. So, if anyone has a way to figure out how I can get the WD Drive Manager application to load and run again without returning the error message above, I appreciate any and all assistance.
Iggy Suarez toiled for 11 seasons in baseball's minor leagues, including a handful in independent leagues. That experience, he says, will help him tremendously as he takes over as manager of the Greenville Drive.
After leading the Drive to the SAL championship in 2017, Greenville's staff has gone through a bit of a makeover. Fenster, who managed Greenville for four seasons, has been promoted to manager at Class AA Portland. Pitching coach Walter Miranda has accepted the position of Latin American minor league pitching coordinator in the Red Sox organization, and assistant coach Corey Wimberly has been appointed manager at short-season Lowell, where Suarez managed the past two seasons.
