The tiered baby coat and jacket knitting pattern from designer Froginette Knitting Patterns come in both baby and toddler sizes. The pattern calls for Cascade 128 superwash which is available in some really beautiful deep colors.
My knitting passion began years ago when my own children were very small. I am a self taught knitter, so learning to read a pattern took me a while. Sometimes mistakes made whilst knitting up a little garment would be a well deserved lesson in not to make that same mistake again as it often resulted in me having to unravel the whole lot I had knitted and start from the cast on row again. I would knit them all kinds of things from blankets, matinee jackets, hats and even bootees. At the moment I do live-in-nursing so it's 24/7 care for clients with a lot of different needs, people that wish to stay in their own home instead of going in to nursing care. I am passionate about my nursing and sometimes in the few hours I have off a day I wondered what to do to fill in my time so I decided to bring out my knitting needles once more and clickity clack away.
This was one little outfit I made for my girl friends grand daughter. It took about two weeks to knit it and a lot of rows & with 230 stitches in the patterned matinee jacket. I say "Made with Love". All worth the time and patience. Hand made knitted garments are getting harder to find these days as I feel knitting is a craft that is getting lost with the younger generation of today which is sad.
