getting closer to a science of cryonics

An NIH BRAIN initiative is putting $500 million into brain research.
Finally, we may be getting closer to the day when cryonics becomes a
science rather than a rational gamble. If the study, which involves many
international collaborators, can identify those elements of our brain
anatomy that constitute the machinery of cognition then cryonics
research would finally have clear measures of efficacy for their
preservation efforts. [1]
