P3 and C5 instances

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had a chance to run the whole cycle on the P3 GPU and C5 CPU instances? If so, what were the speed and cost reduction gains? From my understanding C5s are supposed to be faster in raw computational speeds but also cheaper per hour.

Hi Andrey,

I've tested the P3 instance using an NVIDIA container with RELION2 installed and I saw a similar result as that mentioned on the RELION website, although not quite as fast with 4 x V100. This, considering the cost, made me decide that g3 and p2 instances are still worth it for us.

Regarding C5, I haven't had the need for CPU calculations, so I don't know much about how it will affect cryo-EM jobs.
